About Recipe Cost Calculator
Recipe Cost Calculator works out what a dish actually costs from the packs you buy. It is for people who cook to sell: home bakers, caterers, meal prep and tiffin services, market stalls and small cafés.
Why it exists
Restaurant software does recipe costing, but it comes with inventory systems, supplier integrations, monthly fees and a learning curve that a one-person kitchen doesn't need. Spreadsheets are free, but the unit conversions and formulas break the first time someone types “2 tbsp” against a bottle bought in millilitres.
Recipe Cost Calculator does the one job in between: you record what you paid for each pack, write your recipes in the units you cook in, and it tells you what each batch and each serving costs.
How it's built
- Exact conversions. Metric and US customary units use their exact defined values, and weight is never converted to volume by guessing a density.
- No silent errors. A line that can't be priced is flagged and the total is marked incomplete, rather than counted as zero.
- Nothing rounded until it's shown. A total is the true sum of its lines.
- Your data stays yours. No ads, no tracking, and a full backup export whenever you want one. See the privacy policy.
